G.P.S. (God’s Positioning System) Part 4 – Stay The Course

No matter our emotional state, the weather, or circumstances the Voice and the Map are RELIABLE guides. (Ref. Numbers 23:19; Malachi 3:6; James 1:17; Isaiah 59:21; 1Peter 1:24-25; Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 119:89, 160)

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.

Life is a journey of FAITH (trust, confidence).

2Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight.

Romans 14:23 everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Sometimes feelings and circumstances can cause us to DOUBT or question that we are on the right path.

  1. Stay close to the GPS listening for His VOICE.

  1. If you can’t hear any voice, always look to the MAP (God’s Word) as the ultimate AUTHORITY.

Psalm 119:9, 11, 16, 105, 130   9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?

By living according to your word. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. 16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. 105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. 130 The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

Sometimes people can be a NEGATIVE example or influence.

  • They can give ALTERNATIVE directions or model taking a different route.

  • They can DISORIENT us when they Fail/Fall Short and disappoint us.

Romans 3:3-4 3 What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? 4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar.

In spite of how we FEEL or what is going on in the world, stay the course. Stay committed, CONSISTENT, and confident in God’s word. Stay CHRISTIAN.

Hebrews 10:36-39 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” 38 And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” 39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

It’s not just how we START the journey, but how we FINISH.

2Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
